ReplyDeleteNo idea how I missed this question :(
ReplyDeleteSo, it is now FIVE years since my surgery and as it happens, no I never recovered all the feeling in my lower lip and chin . . . It is what it as they say.
Hi John! I don't know if you continue to check on your blog but I have been reading your posts and have found it helpful and informative. I had SARPE surgery last October and could not chew for 5 months. I understand much of what you went through and will be facing double jaw surgery in the near future. I don't know at this point how much my lower jaw will be moved forward. Realizing that everyone has different experiences it is still helpful to read accounts of others who have experienced the surgery. This is a type of surgery that is not for cosmetic reasons (although there are benefits). There will always be the critics but when it is your health that is involved it is an individual decision! By the way, I am 56 years old. I got braces on shortly before my 55th birthday. Yep a definitely interesting journey but I look forward to the end!
